THE WORKSHOPS / TEAM PROJECT RETREAT
Mandala Art Workshop with Zangmo Alexander
Mandala is the Sanskrit word meaning circle and has been used as a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hindu, Buddhism and Jainism to represent the universe and to aid one’s spiritual development for thousands of years. Mandalas are also be found in many forms across all cultures, from the rose window of a Christian church to the dream catcher of the Native American. They also reveal themselves in nature the Sun, Moon, the Earth, snowflakes, flowers, shells and the circles of life that make up communities, friends and family. The circular design being a symbolic representation that life is never ending.
In the 1930’s Carl J. Jung, the famous Swiss psychiatrist introduced to the West the practice of creating mandalas for self-expression, discovery, and healing.
In this Mandala workshop Zangmo, will use mindfulness meditation as a starting point from which your personal mandala will organically evolve. Mandalas can be precise, geometric, and perfectly symmetrical, or they can be free flowing, organic, and asymmetrical - they can also be in squares. You will have an artists wooden panel and a myriad of vibrant paints at your fingertips with an incredible teacher to help guide the way.
This is a fun, creative workshop – for all artistic abilities!
Zangmo Alexander is an Art Teacher, Creativity coach and visual artist who explores her experience of mind, consciousness and perception of reality, informed by Buddhist psychology (she was a Buddhist nun for 7 years), contemplation and meditation. Her luminous, multi-layered, mixed media drawings, paintings, monoprints and photography are in collections in Europe and USA.
We are privileged to have Zangmo teach at our retreat.

No Reiki course of mine is complete without cake! So this retreat will be no exception....
BEDROOMS
One of the reasons we have been able to keep the retreat affordable is because the accommodation is shared.
(there is no single occupancy).
The retreat sleeps 36 but we will be around 22 in total (guests & team).
The dorms sleep 4 or 6 and everyone will have their own bunk (some are double in size). Rooms are spacious with their own bathroom (there are additional showers in a wet room).
